Rod’s assignment is with SIL International, Wycliffe’s primary partner organization which oversees Bible translation and language development work on the field. Rod’s job title is ‘Business Continuity Consultant’ and includes several responsibilities in SIL’s Global Information and Technology Services department, including:
Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery – Rod serves as a consultant, trainer, and application administrator, helping to ensure that mission-critical operations continue to function, or are quickly restored, in the aftermath of some disruptive event, disaster, or crisis. In a world full of natural disasters and conflicts, and with SIL’s work increasingly in high-risk areas of the world, this is very important. Qualifications – Rod holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from UNC Charlotte. Rod is certified by DRII.org as a Certified Business Continuity Professional, and by ISACA.org as a CRISC (Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control). He has 26 years of Information Technology experience, is a Microsoft Certified Professional and holds several CompTIA certifications (Security+, Network+, A+, Project+).
